The default YUI menu contains CSS telling the browser to use the default arrow
pointer instead of the hand cursor. I think this is because YUI attempts to
mimic an operating system's menu system. I think you're right, however, to be
concerned about the issue--It's an area where there is a great deal of
ambiguity in terms of user expectations. If we were using our menus to create
controls that interacted with an in-page application, I might agree tha the
arrow pointer was appropriate. In this case, where we're just linking to
another page, I think you're right: a hand cursor best expresses the
interaction that will take place.
