It seems that serials-edit.pl should present the caller with a pre-populated
form containing an/the item record for that serial which can then be edited and
saved.

What happens is that the caller is presented with a summary of the serial and a
link just below it "Click to add item." When this link is clicked, the caller
is presented with a form for adding an item. If the form is filled in an
additional item is added.

There is no provision on this screen for editing an existing serials item.

Perhaps the "Click to add item" link should change to "Click to edit item" and
link back to cataloguing/additem.pl?op=edititem&biblionumber=foo&itemnumber=bar
