Opening a new window would still require the original window to be refreshed to
pickup the new profile in the drop down and so causing the loss of entries on
the form.

The desired effect could be done with the use of some ajax type scripting, but
that is beyond the scope of this fix. I would suggest opening an enhancement
request for that feature.
