You are right, you would require 2 sysprefs.

However, there is precedent for doing it in the way I describe:

If you insist upon keeping it to a single preference, this:

Display results using <entry box> XSLT. Leave empty for "no xslt", enter
"default" for the default one, put an URL for an external specific stylesheet.

Would be fine with me.
