One of the problems that arises when maintaining an authority file long-term is
inadvertent duplication of authority records. In order to combat this problem,
Koha needs a script for bulk de-duplicating of authority records. The
deduplicator should be able to automatically recognize machine-generated
authority records, and choose official records. It should also recognize when
one record supersedes another based on previous headings. The algorithm will
also need to give greater weight to newer records.
