I've set it NSO to gather some attention. This is not ready yet (cleanup is
required for that). But The only way I found of testing it is displaying both
tables (the original and the API-driven so the behaviour can be compared).

The patchset touches histsearch.pl but only the table displayed when adding an
invoice is complete-ish.

The only missing feature is the in-column filtering, but the main technical
challenge is solved (filtering on bilbioitems.isbn).

Please test and provide feedback!
