I've done some counting for fr-FR :
Without patch :
 > msggrep -K -e '%s' misc/translator/po/fr-FR-staff-prog.po | grep -c ^msgid
1819
With patch :
 > msggrep -K -e '%s' misc/translator/po/fr-FR-staff-prog.po | grep -c ^msgid
1747
