Regarding the level of confidence in this patch regarding stability we have
been running this for a pretty large University Library (Gothenburg University
Library) in production for a couple of years, about three I think, and not
encountered any major issues. We have not merged in the latest upstream changes
from this issue, but I don't think much have changed when it comes to the core
logic/functionality.
