That said, I am a little suspicious that Sebastian Riedel is going to abandon
Mojolicious/Minion (ie Perl) in favour of mojo.js/minion.js (ie
Node.js/Typescript). 

He keeps saying that he's not going to abandon them but... there's no
guarantees in life. 

Of course, that's why I keep thinking having a robust model is important, so
that porting to a different controller framework isn't prohibitive.
