Hi, are your records in non-latin script by chance and you are using Zebra? 

If so, please have a look at setting up ICU for Zebra:

https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/ICU_chains_configuration

ICU is required for having Zebra any non-latin scripts correctly.
