Not sure what your proxy script does. But if you would use nginx as a reverse
proxy between internet and Koha, I would not consider that an ugly solution.
The SSL with its certificates etc is handled in the reverse proxy. Koha does
not have to deal with that anymore. (We run Koha in a container at the same
time.)
