Hi Hanna, I just checked this on master which will soon be 22.11:

- Checked out an item with a due date in the past 
- Verified it showed on the overdue tab in the OPAC (5 renewals left)
- Placed a hold on it
- OPAC message changed to: No renewals left

As you said, the checkouts tab is correct.
