You're correct, the calendar only records open or closed for the entire day.
All of the things the calendar is used for are all-or-nothing for the day -- Do
we charge fines today? Do we send overdue notices today? Stuff like that.

What are you looking to accomplish by recording days with reduced hours? Are
you looking for that to figure into hourly checkouts and fines?
