In the first patches for this API route a checkout via barcode and patron_id
was used but the param barcode got replaced by item_id.

If I want to use this API, in my case for checking in/out items via RFID (not
SIP2/NCIP), I cannot rely on an item_id as only the barcode is saved on RFID
tags. Is it still possible to checkout/checkin items via barcode?
