It's an interesting idea. 

The import_* tables are not necessarily permanent, but it looks like
cleanup_database.pl doesn't clean them up in the out of the box crontab, so
most libraries probably do persist that data...

Rather than having it on the detail page, it might make more sense to add it on
the sidebar with a label like "Import history". That way, it doesn't actually
affect the detail.pl page at all, and people can opt-in to that information. As
a result, I don't think we'd need a syspref for it. 

If people don't want it, they just don't click on it, and then nothing is
different. And for people who do want it, they can just choose it from that
list of sidebar items which is fairly short at the moment.
