hi Laura
this indicates that you seem to be missing a <docdir> definition

in a koha installed with a debian package, the following line should exist in
your /etc/koha/sites/mykoha1/koha-conf.xml

  <docdir>/usr/share/doc/koha-common</docdir>


fyi: the history file should exist at /usr/share/doc/koha-common/history.txt
