This is certainly an improvement, but there is still a regression in
functionality.. especially noticeable if 'ReservesControlBranch' is set to
'ItemHomeLibrary' as we actually may not even need 'Patron' for the
calculations in that case at all.

It's really hard.. this code is all so intertwined all over the place.. I'm not
sure how deep down the rabbit hole we should be going.
