An additional note, I'm not a fan of shelling out. It's sometimes unavoidable
when integrating with a third-party app, but since we're using our own code
here I think we can do better. 

Koha also has a lot of dependencies already. I don't know if we want to add
another one just for this. HTML::TextToHTML is unmaintained, and I think we
could manage without it.
