I've tried to come up with a workaround to avoid these table relationship
problems.

Using a new system preference, we choose whether the future booking option
attribute is activated on the item or on the itemtype. I've taken into account
your comments on inconsistent messages and how to view the select on the item
if the system preference is set to "itemtype".
