This is a PoC highlighting and fixing the issue, but I'm unsure what that
defer_loading code was doing int he first but was introduced by bug 30063 patch
"Restore back behaviour".
@Joubu are you able to provide feedback here? Basically I believe my patch is
fixing the issue but may be reintroducing past issues.
