Maybe this has been fixed since your bug report was created. I did find however that saving led to a YAML_DUMP_ERR_FILE_OUTPUT. Manually adding the search index into the indexes.yaml works, so it must be that it won't properly format it when adding to the file (it says that the file/directory does not exist, but it must be able to see it as the page would not display existing indexes if it couldn't see it). I'll continue try to figure out why it won't dump the index config into the indexes.yaml. Currently , i could add a new search index through the staff client. But as you had said it's not added to indexes.yaml.
