[Bug 34814] New: Limiting item editing to library or library group disables choosing items from record's details page
https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=34814 Bug ID: 34814 Summary: Limiting item editing to library or library group disables choosing items from record's details page Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: 23.05 Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: major Priority: P4 Component: Cataloging Assignee: koha-bugs@lists.koha-community.org Reporter: anneli.osterman@koha-suomi.fi QA Contact: testopia@bugs.koha-community.org CC: m.de.rooy@rijksmuseum.nl Depends on: 20256 Bug 20256 adds the ability to limit editing items per library or library group. I noticed that if you are limiting the editing per library group you lose the ability to choose items on record details page. This is enabled in StaffDetailItemSelection. You cannot choose your own items either. It would be ok not to choose items that you cannot edit/delete but if you cannot choose your own items it is a big disadvantage. You cannot choose multiple items and do batch edits or deletes to them from details page. I tested the feature in PTFS Europe's sandbox (v. 23.06). The behaviour I'm seeing is that items whose home library you have access to (either directly or via a library group) have their checkboxes visible, and those you don't have their checkboxes hidden. This also works correctly for me when there are some items you have access to and some you don't. Am I missing something, or could this already have been fixed? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.

I believe we narrowed down very specific circumstances that cause this to happen. Hopefully this maps it out clearly: 1. I am logged in as Library A that exists in a Library Group. 2. I see my holdings in the "Holdings" tab, but my branch, Library B, has holdings on the "Other holdings" tab. 3. There are so many items in "Other holdings" that multiple pages are needed. 4. Library B's holdings fall on page 2+ of the "Other holdings" tab. 5. As Library A, I'm no longer able to edit Library B's item. My understanding is that there are two bugs (40668, 35211) that will fix this behavior, but until then we are just telling the staff to change their logged in location to the other one. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
