[Bug 13326] Add possibilty to edit purchase suggestion in the OPAC
https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=13326 --- Comment #6 from Katrin Fischer <katrin.fischer@bsz-bw.de> --- (In reply to adastra from comment #5)
I know it's an old thread, but I would like to chime in on what Rhonda wrote.
We use MAXTOTALSUGGESTION and NUMBEROFSUGGESTIONDAYS to allow patrons to submit only 1 suggestion every 90 days.
We now realized that a few patrons have figured out that if they delete their suggestions, even if already ordered, this resets the timer and they can post another suggestion. It's also terrible for bookkeeping, because we no longer have a record of the suggestion in the staff interface.
I think the most sensible thing would be to permanently remove the option for patrons to be able to delete suggestions, or to add a new setting that does this.
Hi Adastra, as this is a feature request about allowing editing, I think best would be to file a new bug about the ability to disallow deleting. As the use cases can be different (think about a research library where researchers are allowed to make as many suggestions as they want), I believe both editing and deleting could be made into an option that could be switched on and off. But since it's different to this request it should be on its own bug - you can use the "see also" field to link them. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
