Scanning an item with a special character in the title causes the 3M self check machines to produce the "ERR_SIP_CONN_RECV" message, causing the machines to fall into an "Out of Service" state temporarily. Waiting approximately 30 seconds causes the machines to return to a normal Check-Out state.
