[Bug 24180] New: maintain separate repeated subfields when linking authority in advanced catalog editor
https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=24180 Bug ID: 24180 Summary: maintain separate repeated subfields when linking authority in advanced catalog editor Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: master Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P5 - low Component: Cataloging Assignee: koha-bugs@lists.koha-community.org Reporter: andrew@bywatersolutions.com QA Contact: testopia@bugs.koha-community.org CC: m.de.rooy@rijksmuseum.nl To test: - create an authority record with two 150$z fields - create a new bib in the advanced editor - link your bib to your authority - note your two $z subfields have been concatenated Tested this on master with specifically a topical term authority linking to a 650, though I don't suspect those details will make a difference. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. This seems to be a problem with the advanced editor and the linker. It is independent of a search engine (happens on both ES and Zebra). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=24180 --- Comment #4 from lhilleary@wrl.org --- Any updates on a fix for this? So far, we've had this most heavily affect 655 and 830. Related, doing a CTRL+B search on a heading adds all of the subfields like $2 to the search which then prevents the success of the search to link. Sometimes, linking has also removed subfields like $v and $2. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.
https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=24180 --- Comment #5 from Phil Ringnalda <phil@chetcolibrary.org> --- That sounds like you are talking about bug 25122. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. You are watching all bug changes.
https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=24180 --- Comment #6 from lhilleary@wrl.org --- Definitely agree with the issue in 25122, but that one appears to focus more on populating the fields when doing a CTRL B search. What we're also encountering is a tag with repeating subfields (most often v) getting combined into one so then we have to go back to add the second delimiter when linking. Would be ideal if CTRL B linking didn't do this or remove the relator term. Any ideas on how to resolve this? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=24180 --- Comment #7 from Phil Ringnalda <phil@chetcolibrary.org> --- Find someone to fix this bug, since that's what it's about :) At least I think so: is Ctrl+B what you have mapped for the "Link field to authorities" keyboard shortcut that by default is Shift+Ctrl+L? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=24180 --- Comment #8 from lhilleary@wrl.org --- Yes. And definitely want to find someone to fix it. Is there anywhere else I can post this bug to ask for development? Thanks! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.
