In my experience almost nobody wants the non-digestible version and many patrons are annoyed when they are sent multiple notifications undigested. And less emails per recipient is good. There are power users that like to receive single notifications for other types of notices like hold filled. The non-digestible version of this remains, so I would suggest both options (single or digests only) to remain for autorenewal notices.
Unless, unlike hold filled, there is only one possible time per day that the autorenewal message would be sent out?
Thanks for the feedback! Autorenewals, via automatic_renewals.pl, do typically only once a day. It sounds like there are users who prefer the non-digest version!
