It is imperative to use the ISBN index (nb) for this kind of search. It would be nice if this system preference makes it possible to search the ISBN variants in the index keyword as well. I think it could pose problems in some use cases. That ISBNs in 7xx and 8xx come out with this research on ISBN variations does not seem a problem for us, on the contrary. Most of the time we have the ISBNs of the other versions of the documents. So if these documents are retrieved by research, that's what we want. In this way, the different libraries could decide whether or not to search for variants in ill the field or to limit the search to particular field.
