I don't think it gives any insight into how it could be accomplished on our end. I'm pretty sure you'd have to have an app installed on the iPhone which would interface with the OS's wallet system. I'm pretty sure you'd have to have an app installed on the iPhone which would interface with the OS's wallet system. Perhaps someone with some app development experience could confirm.
You don't need an app to add to the Apple Wallet. Servers send cryptographically signed compressed packages to the user who can add the package to their phone's wallet as a pass. The tricky bit with Apple is that the signature needs to be done using a key from an Apple developer account. They do have the Google/Apple wallet integration, and while I added the library card to my wallet... I don't really use it. I just use the library app. Solus have integrated with a couple of Koha libraries in Australia and New Zealand.
