[Bug 32329] New: Marking early closures in calendar
https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=32329 Bug ID: 32329 Summary: Marking early closures in calendar Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: master Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Tools Assignee: koha-bugs@lists.koha-community.org Reporter: cbrannon@cdalibrary.org QA Contact: testopia@bugs.koha-community.org There is currently no way (that I can see) to mark a partial or early closure for a day. It seems to be an all or nothing day. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. You are watching all bug changes.

All of the things the calendar is used for are all-or-nothing for the day -- Do we charge fines today? Do we send overdue notices today? Stuff like that. What are you looking to accomplish by recording days with reduced hours? Are you looking for that to figure into hourly checkouts and fines? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. You are watching all bug changes.
https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=32329 --- Comment #2 from Christopher Brannon <cbrannon@cdalibrary.org> --- Funny you should ask, as it was brought to my attention when I started using your calendar hack to show upcoming closures on the home screen. The one thing it doesn't show is any early closures, because we can't define those in the calendar. It would be nice to be able to put those in the calendar, even if they didn't have any particular impact on fines or fees. Maybe if we marked an event as an early closure, we could have a system preference that would include or exclude those types of events. That would be a good start. Then down the road maybe it could have a more fine tuned role. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.
https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=32329 --- Comment #3 from Andrew Fuerste-Henry <andrewfh@dubcolib.org> --- It seems like it would be useful (and not too deep/involved an enhancement) to add the ability to record an event/note/whatever on a given date in the calendar. Basically attach a title and description to a date but not actually enforce it as a closure. That could be an early closure, a notable program, or any number of other things. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.
