[Bug 23476] New: Too many holds message needs to be smarter
https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=23476 Bug ID: 23476 Summary: Too many holds message needs to be smarter Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Hold requests Assignee: koha-bugs@lists.koha-community.org Reporter: cbrannon@cdalibrary.org QA Contact: testopia@bugs.koha-community.org CC: gmcharlt@gmail.com If there are no holds available for a patron, the message "Too many holds" can be confusing. Couldn't Koha simply say something like "There are no available items that can satisfy this hold." ? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. If Koha says too many, I know that the reason is in the circulation rules (somewhere it limits the number of holds for the user). If it says 'none of the items' I would assume that I can still place holds on other records and that the issue is item related. I think being as precise as possible should be the goal to allow for easy 'debugging' of circuation rules and to understand what's going on. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=23476 --- Comment #2 from Christopher Brannon <cbrannon@cdalibrary.org> --- All I can say is that it leads to confusion to some libraries using it. I think we could be more accurate. I think having it generalized like this is over simplification. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
