It's possible but fiddly to do this from the database command-line. I will add an interface to do this from the staff admin. It will probably be accessed from Administration: Patron Categories and require both parameters (from Patron Categories) and borrowers (from Patrons) permissions. Libraries with some patrons that subscribe as a group need to have their dateexpiry or other attributes updated all at once. It's possible but fiddly to do this from the database command-line. I will add an interface to do this from the staff admin.

UPDATE table set WHERE condition It would be valuable for updating children to Adults and so on. This ticket is just to update an entire categorycode's patrons at once. Children could be converted to adults if there were a categorycode for each cohort. I could allow conditional updates, but how best to design an interface for that? Raw SQL doesn't seem like a good idea, but a full query builder might be beyond our sponsorship budget just now. So a library could search for a set of patron records based on any element of the patron record and then make changes, such as making a child an adult or a student an alumni, or delete a whole set of records, such as a graduating class. My understanding is that the coding is underway. I'm happy to learn that someone else is working on this, but a little disappointed that there was no publication before we started on it. Can MassCat tell us the contract dates for this? Is the coding available as a git branch somewhere?
