I think CoverFlow has become a de facto standard for Koha.

At this point, maybe Bywater would consider converting the plugin into a patch, but I don't see a problem leaving it as a plugin and just closing this report.

Yes, ByWater or anybody else. The ambition for a plugin that is widely used must be to integrate Koha core.
