FWIW here is an example of such a feature from the North Eastern University Grand Library (http://library.neu.edu.tr/cgi-bin/koha/opac-main.pl) which is running some flavor of 2.x:

I took a while to find out how to make the map appear, even knowing this feature existed (you click on the call number).
