Test plan: Go at the OPAC and confirm that the focus is automatically put on in the search box. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=8317 --- Comment #4 from Owen Leonard <oleonard@myacpl.org> --- I'm concerned about how this affects the user in situations like this: - Page starts loading - Patron sees search results begin to display - Patron scrolls down through results - DOM ready event fires, focus is transferred to the search box - The page scrolls back to the top and the patron loses their place -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

The alternative is to do nothing, which in my opinion is the right thing to do. The question is: Is an OPAC more like Google.com, where searching is the what everyone arriving at the page intends to do? Or is the OPAC more like Amazon.com where searching is something users are likely to do but they might also be taking other paths to access content. I think the analogy might be different for different libraries, but I suspect Amazon is more often the correct analogue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
