I can confirm that newlines in data fields will break communication (by truncating the server's response, and initiating a new invalid line). This should be relatively easy to sanitize. There are only a couple of fields that would allow a newline to be part of the data.

Bug 2613 is unrelated, since that deals with the web-based self-check and not any SIP process.
