We have a six-branch system which means that the person cancelling a waiting hold is very often not at the branch where the hold is located. We have 17 branches with share-and-share-alike holds. Koha instantly changing the status of an item when the hold is cancelled from "On hold" to "Available" is how items end up on the missing lists.
