From the name (*OPAC* login) and the occasional fall-back to cardnumber in C4::Auth, I suspect this may be a mistake. If it isn't a mistake, please reassign this bug to the Documentation: https://sites.google.com/a/liblime.com/koha-manual/Home/Table-of-Contents/Pa... should be updated to make it clear that cardnumber cannot be used to login to the staff client.
