What about "IndependantBranches" system pref ?
If set to yes,
The search gives only results in the branch of the connected user.
In advanced search page, the branch is automatically selected.
But you can select another.

The question I am asking is whether there is a way to change the default of searching in permanent location to current location? If not by sysprefs then where in code? A hint will do..
