Hi Ed

A serial module will be worked on after 2.0 is released. We are in feature
freeze at the moment. To concentrate on fixing bugs so we can release 2.0
then we will start on adding new features (and bugs:-)) again.

2.0 is getting closer all the time, and if anyone wants to help out
squashing bugs, that would be fantastic.
