Kyle,
Hourly Loans is moving forward, and once complete will open the door for Course Reserves, but Course Reserves itself is not fully spec'ed out and ready to begin. There are different ways to implement it, and I'm not sure which is best.
My thinking is that putting an item on course reserve is really just changing some detail about it temporarily (like it's item type or collection code). In this way, it's like rotating collections. But there is another element that needs to be taken into account, and that's searching by Course/Professor and the like. The data structure of this additional metadata should be easily mappable to all the major courseware systems out there currently, or at least follow some kind of agreed-upon standard (there may be something in MARC21 already...).
We've also got to ask, should search for Course Reserves be integrated into normal searching, or use a separate system like Tagging does?
I don't know the best answers; I throw this open to the great minds of the community.

Hello All,
Some months ago there was talk on the list about adding course
reserves to Koha. I was just wondering if there was anyone actively
developing this feature. I know that support for hourly loans is
needed first, and that there is an RFC on the koha community wiki
written by Ian. Is this feature in active development, or has it
stalled?
Thanks,
Kyle
