We've recently been updating a number of customers to using DOM indexing and mostly it's going well.  However, I just wanted to clarify something about the Z39.50/SRU server.

The responce given from old chr based zebra and dom based zebra is in a completely different format. Is this correct, or is it a bug?

You can use DOM + chr if you like. Just choose chr instead of icu when running the installer. However, if ICU changes the format, then, yes, that's a bug, probably with Zebra.

It just occurred to me you might mean GRS-1 rather than chr. If that's the case, then I suspect it probably is a bug, probably an incorrect stylesheet path in koha-conf.xml or the like.
