Hi Zico,

This is a (simple) saved Report that we use:

SELECT location, count(barcode) , sum(replacementprice) FROM items GROUP BY location ORDER BY location asc

Hope it helps. (Plus, this tells us how much the replacment value of the library stock is!)

Hi all,

I need a bit of help

I am trying to integrate google transliteration with koha opac search
box. This makes it easier to search indian language keywords for
english keyboard users.

I have it working with Firefox at www.granthalaya.org; but in IE I
dont get the language selection box. The transliteration still works
but the language selection dropdown does not appear. I cant make out
anything from the error message displayed either. The error says
"line: 40 char: 243 unexpected call to method or property access.Code
: 0" If I use the same google transliteration code in a simple html
page in IE it works. So I am doubly puzzled so as to where to look for
the problem. What could it be?

Can someone please have a look at the site in both IE and Firefox and
suggest something?

Regards,
Koustubha Kale

I wanted to see what type of interest there is in another conference in the
US and who would be willing to help/host/committee/present...

There has been lots of discussion about other issues, but thought we should
refocus our energy to helping each other.

I know Chris is working on a conference in NZ - KohaCon 2010 anniversary -
but many of us I know won't be able to attend.  I don't want to take any
thunder from that though as well...

What are peoples thoughts - concerns...

Some people indicated if there is no other option than NZ maybe their
administration would let them go to NZ - I want to hear what people have to
say.

is there a way in the OPAC to search 2 locations at the same time?

branch:001,901 or something of that nature?

I don't mess with the reports, so I can't help with them.  For this I
would run a few SQL commands.  I'll write some here for you.

SELECT COUNT(barcode) FROM items WHERE barcode <> '' AND barcode IS NOT
NULL

SELECT categorycode,COUNT(barcode) FROM items WHERE barcode<> '' AND
barcode IS NOT NULL GROUP BY categorycode;

SELECT COUNT(biblionumber) FROM biblio

These will give you the total number of barcodes, the number of barcodes
per item category, and the total number of titles in the database.

Good luck.

I would recommend holding off on any US event until 2011 to give KohaCon NZ
every chance to be successful.  The alternative would be smaller, regional
gatherings in the US early in 2010, but nothing after, say, the start of
your summer.
My 2 cents,

Sorry about double posting this but I never got a copy of this mail
from the list although that option is set to yes in my list
preferences. So not sure of it made it to the list. I have now set the
acknowledge preference to yes so lets see if I get an acknowledgement
AND a copy of the mail from the list.

Anyone with google transliteration experience on the list please help
as this is quite a useful feature for libraries with Indian language
catalouges..

Kousubha,

We have done this already, here is the patch.

Thanks,

Nucsoft OSS labs

This is available only on the masthead search box in the OPAC.

User has to enter a word in english and press space or return to
transliterate the word. The destination language can be selected from
a drop down list. User can temporarily turn on/off the feature by
using "ctrl +g".

A system preference - GoogleIndicTransliteration can be used to turn
on this feature.
