Hi Naveen,

This error has been resolved by bug 36993, which will be coming out in 24.05.01. If you are okay with waiting a few weeks to upgrade, one option is to wait until 24.05.01 is released at the end of the month and upgrade directly to that version.

If waiting isn't a good option, there is also a workaround that was posted as a comment on the bug: https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=36993#c1

I am trying to upgrade from Koha 23.11 to 24.05 on Ubuntu.

After the successful installation of Koha and the Web Installer screen, i get the following message; I believe during MySQL upgrade.

Upgrade to 23.12.00.023 [12:32:00]: Bug 32132 - Set aqbudgets.budget_period_id as NOT NULL
ERROR: {UNKNOWN}: DBI Exception: DBD::mysql:b do failed: Cannot change column 'budget_period_id': used in a foreign key constraint 'aqbudgetperiods_ibfk_1' at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Installer.pm line 741

I can see in the release notes of 24.05 that this bug has been resolved.

But does that mean I cannot upgrade from 23.11 to 24.05?

Is there a work around I can apply?
