Next week is Global Bug Squashing Week!
Dear Community, The deadlines for getting stuff into version 3.8 are drawing near: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Roadmap_to_3.8 As most of you are probably aware now, there will be a super cool hackfest in Marseille next week: http://drupal.biblibre.com/en/blog/entry/2012-hackfest-in-europe For those of us who can't be there in person, it's still possible to contribute to the fun, by joining the Global bug squashing week: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/2012-03-19_Global_bug_squashing_week As far as I can tell, the beginning of this week will be the last chance for having new features signed off with any hope of getting them into 3.8. And there are bugfixes and minor improvements to look after. Not sure how you can help? Jump on the IRC channel ( http://koha-community.org/get-involved/irc/ ) and we will help you get started! And with the sandboxes provided by BibLibre all you need in order to join the fun is a web browser! http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/2012-03-19_Global_bug_squashing_week See you there! 19 from BibLibre (including our 4 librarians), 12 librarians (including the BibLibre 4), and ppl from Croatia, Spain, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and US (have a nice trip all of you !) BibLibre office will be a little bit too small, so we've booked an additional room just the door in front of our office (thx to the NPO that make it possible !) We will split in 5 different groups : * one (with most librarians) will work on signing-off, document, translating (to french), bug squash,... * one (with at least Owen, Katrin, Gaétan, Julian & Adrien) will work on interface & ergonomy things. * one (with at least Claire, Jonathan, Zeno, Juan) working on solr stuff -that won't be submitted for 3.8, definetly, but we hope to have a detailled roadmap & some started work * one (with at least hdl, dobrika & matthias) will work on persistency * one (with at least marc & some other BibLibre ppl) will work on database, trying to drop as many mySQL dependancies as possible, fix DB mistakes,... We will have a lot of fun, no doubt, and you're unlucky if you don't come :D -- Paul POULAIN http://www.biblibre.com Expert en Logiciels Libres pour l'info-doc Tel : (33) 4 91 81 35 08
is there a full koha anonymized test database available to squash bugs against? ________________________________ From: Magnus Enger <magnus@enger.priv.no> To: Koha list <koha@lists.katipo.co.nz>; koha-devel@lists.koha-community.org Sent: Friday, 16 March 2012 10:47 PM Subject: [Koha] Next week is Global Bug Squashing Week! Well, aren't the Biblibre sandboxes meant for that purpose? http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Sandboxes The Calyx demo (demo.calyx.net.au) has only a small data base, but we could make it available if really needed. Perhaps other companies demo DBs are larger? But try the Biblibre ones first. Hope that helps, Bob
I have one that is a combo of sample data and MARC21 data - you can get it at https://github.com/wizzyrea/Scripts-and-Things/blob/master/kohadev-withbibs.... (do note, it's possible the rules in there are not quite sane or not defined in a way that makes sense. Step through the administration when you get it imported.) And just the marc data: https://github.com/wizzyrea/Scripts-and-Things/blob/master/MARC21.mrc I've got an ongoing project to make a collection of sample data, and rule sets that developers can choose and import at install time, but they are not ready quite yet. :) Liz Rea lrea@nekls.org On Mar 21, 2012, at 12:45 AM, Mason James wrote:

oooh, nice one Liz :) perhaps we could work towards using some standardized data-sets for testing Koha we could have a set of UNIMARC, USMARC-MARC21 and NORMARC bibs, patrons, and a basically configured Koha database) does anyone else have any UNIMARC, NORMARC (and other *MARC) data-sets they could contribute?
