Seeking comments on Bug 5234 - Remove unused CSS files
These CSS files look like they're a relic of pre-3.0 days: intranet-print.css intranet.css intranet2.css intranet2popup.css This one hasn't been touched sine 2007: staff-global2.css ...Is it used by anyone? What about blue.css? http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=5234 Thanks, Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org
Owen, I know one library that uses blue.css. It either needs some work, or they need to use intranetusercss to do the eye-pleasing colour change. -Ian On Tue, Feb 8, 2011 at 11:46 AM, Owen Leonard <oleonard@myacpl.org> wrote:

We also have one client using blue.css but they intend to change back at the next upgrade. Bob Birchall Calyx On 09/02/11 04:14, Ian Walls wrote:

Hi blue.css was left quite unmaintained, though it brought along more colors and therefore was warmer. But well would need work. -- Henri-Damien LAURENT BibLibre Le 08/02/2011 18:14, Ian Walls a écrit :

Hi blue.css was left quite unmaintained, though it brought along more colors and therefore was warmer. But well would need work. My opinion is that the standard "white and black" colors are not fancy enough. I changed my mind on this subject : I thought fancyness was just something for tv ppl that must hide their emptyness behing fancy colors. I still think that in fact. But when competing another ILS in a RFP, when the librarians have a demo, I have heard some librarians saying "your interface is sad, more colors/pictures would be better,..." I know *for sure* we already have lost one RFP just because of the look of our librarian interface. The library project manager was very annoyed by this reason, thinking Koha was the best in terms of features, but the librarians were convinced by another ILS, and the main reason was ... the colors. I agree it's really stupid/silly/whatever you want, but I think we have to deal with that : I think Koha 3.4 with a new librarian default color

So, the next question is, imo: who could write a nice&fancy color stylesheet ? yes, unfortunately "how it looks" is a factor in the decision. The OPAC gets lots of attention, and there are some gorgeous ones out there, but not a lot of folks customize the staff client, since just the librarains see it. I'd love to spend more time on the staff interface, but I'm hardly a CSS artist. I'll happily test and provide feedback, and work in depth on small details like rounded edges with CSS3 or adjusting margins, if anyone else can provide the initial design. I'd also like to see a new feature that allows librarians to upload their own CSS file through the GUI. Provide a template to download, them them go to town, and then upload. Same with XSLT, now that I mention it. -Ian On Wed, Feb 9, 2011 at 3:22 AM, Paul Poulain <paul.poulain@biblibre.com>wrote:
