Re: [Koha-devel] Re: [Koha] 3rd pre 2.0 meeting (fwd)
Your are missing the point though, his was requested along time ago. It did not seem to be documented as something on he to do list and thus did not get done.

Now you are assuming that I want to learn new programming languages.... I don't even have time to practice the ancient art of ALGOL, SPL, FORTRAN etc... retooling my brain for a new language is not an option... Besides..

Options for you, as far as I can see: 1. Do it yourself (you don't want to/don't have time to); 2. Encourage someone else to do it (you can't?); 3. Wait.
Sorry, but that's the way it goes sometimes. Until I have a client who must have LC in koha, I can't give it a higher priority than other work. This flamefest helps no-one and makes it harder for you to do option 2.

I'm sorry that a user request got dropped, but discussing the past doesn't change it. I don't think I was involved when it was requested before feature freeze, so I'm not going to comment on that. The options for dealing with this now are roughly as I outlined. If it is that important, I think it's a very good idea for someone or some group to hire a coder to write it and then it will definitely be done. Beggars can't always be choosers, sadly, so if one wants volunteers to do specific work, one has to keep an eye on them and remind them every so often. It's the same everywhere I've done volunteer work. -- MJR/slef My Opinion Only and possibly not of any group I know. http://mjr.towers.org.uk/ jabber://slef@jabber.at Creative copyleft computing services via http://www.ttllp.co.uk/ Thought: "Changeset algebra is really difficult."
