Force hold on item-level?
Hi all, Anyone working on /having ideas on the following: Would it be interesting to force Koha somehow on specific biblios (with multiple and not-identical items) to place holds only on item-level and not on biblio level ? This would be kind of opposite of OPACItemHolds that can block item level holds in general. I am not thinking of a syspref however, but of some way to mark this behavior on biblio level. Any feedback is welcome! Thanks, Marcel
If I understand you right, this has already been done: http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=7825 Nicole On Mon, Jul 21, 2014 at 9:27 AM, Marcel de Rooy <M.de.Rooy@rijksmuseum.nl> wrote:

Hi, I thought the idea of moving OPACItemHolds to the circulation matrix was promising in terms of more flexibility: http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=5787 And there is another patch implementing item level holds a bit different especially for serial records: http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=11157 I think there would definitely be interest in such a feature. Thanks Nicole and Katrin. Bug 7825 indeed adds a force option! I would only want to extend it to "selective" where I could force it only for groups of records or even at record level somehow. Bug 5787 proposed to move OPACItemsHolds to the circulation matrix, but has been marked as a duplicate of 5786 that refers to AllowOnShelfHolds ("Does not apply"). The status of this dev is not so clear anymore. Bug 11157 is also interesting although marked as a "simple dirty hack" for serials.. Will still be thinking a little bit of an alternative approach?
