I met this morning with Ron Diener from the North Carolina Supreme Court library. Although they're not ready to make any formal announcements, he did say it was OK to share the news that the Court library is about to begin a 90-day assessment of Koha to replace their current (SIRSI) system. The library does not circulate anything, so they are primarily looking for a system that will handle storing and retrieving their rather complex MARC records. They plan to announce a decision early in September. Meanwhile, they have some pretty high-caliber technical staff, and if they see areas of Koha that they feel could be stronger, they may be making some proposals for some new Koha code. -- Stephen Hedges Skemotah Solutions, USA www.skemotah.com -- shedges@skemotah.com
