Hi all, I have a request/suggestion. I see a lot of new patch submitters - myself included - and I'm wondering if we'd benefit from an online chat/tutorial/web conference of some sort where newbies have access to the experts for a short period of time. I personally learn best when I can see things done - versus reading (which is why the manual is full of so many screenshots). Anyone else interested in setting something up? or attending something like this? --- Nicole C. I also would be very interested in attending. Great idea! Susan Bennett ILS System Administrator Geauga County Public Library 440 286-6811 x 125 440 286-7419 FAX On Thu, Jul 9, 2009 at 8:44 AM, Sébastien Hinderer < Sebastien.Hinderer@snv.jussieu.fr> wrote:

Interested in attending, yes, certainly. Very good idea ! Sébastien. _______________________________________________ Koha-devel mailing list Koha-devel@lists.koha.org http://lists.koha.org/mailman/listinfo/koha-devel
Me too. A tutorial about how to use GIT and how to send patches etc. would be great. Absolutely, yes. Git is powerful (and thus complicated) enough to work for many different project workflows. Reading the Git docs doesn't necessary tell you how the workflow for Koha goes. Seeing this in action, with an expert to fill in some of the blanks, would be tremendously valuable to new submitters. For my part, I volunteer to draw up flowcharts for the Koha workflow, to be loaded up to the wiki once we can agree that I've represented the process correctly. I think this is a good idea. We could do this as a special #koha IRC channel meeting, and I would be happy to participate. Some sort of web cast would be even better, I think; does anybody have recommendations for F/OSS webcast or screen sharing services that would work? Regards, Galen

I've looked at Webhuddle and DimDim both come in open source options. --- Nicole C. Me again - just wanted to bring this back to everyone's attention as I look at my bug list and wish I knew how to fix some of these things. Can we put this on the agenda for the next IRC meeting? --- Nicole C.
