Re: [Koha-devel] Moving to Arch?
So does this mean that I can't merge back into the main branch ... that you have do do that? In CVS anyone with devel privs could commit to the main repo ... or am I mising something?
Either the RM or their automaton will need to do the merge.
This is a deliberate model change from CVS which both allows
more people to do more development tasks without waiting for
approval, and allows the RM to say "show me the code" before
accepting it into the final release tree, if they want.
It sounds like this is quite a shift of power, if I understand correctly, from a group of trusted developers to a single director who chooses what goes in and what doesn't. Do I understand correctly? Have we had problems in the past that will be alleviated by this shift of power? -- Owen

I understand the same thing. It's not a problem for me, but, as Release Manager, there are some ppl that i'm confident with. for example, i think/hope that my commits in the 2.4 branch will be accepted as is by emiliano. So, I think it would be nice to have some confirmed-commiter

No, we havn't had. -- Paul POULAIN Consultant indépendant en logiciels libres responsable francophone de koha (SIGB libre http://www.koha-fr.org)

In theory, the RM already makes that decision. It's not a shift of power at all, but making practice reflect theory. Did I misunderstand? As noted elsewhere, there are known ways around this if it's not what we want to do some time. -- MJR/slef My Opinion Only and not of any group I know Creative copyleft computing - http://www.ttllp.co.uk/ LinuxExpo.org.uk village 6+7 Oct http://www.affs.org.uk
